During the summer months, works were carried out to improve accessibility to the school. New key coded doors were fitted.
Six new computers were purchased for the ICT/Business Room and the old computers reconfigured and put into another classroom.
Well done to our two students who got their Leaving Certificate results in August. They did really well- a just reward for all the hard work they put in during the year. Congratulations too to their parents and teachers for being so supportive of them.
Eight students waited nervously for Sept 14th so that they could get their Junior Certificate results. It was worth the wait as each of them achieved brilliant results. We are so proud of them.
We extend a very warm welcome to the thirteen pupils who started in our school this year. We hope they will be very happy here and look forward to working with them and their families in the coming years.
Every Friday our students go to Tralee Sports Complex for swimming lessons. The school pays for bus transport to and from the pool. There are four instructors at the pool to ensure that each level of swimming ability is catered for.
We are pleased to announce that we will now have the services of an occupational therapist in the school in the future.
As part of our continued efforts to keep our school as “green” as possible, a short flush mechanism has been installed in the toilets to reduce water use. The ASD class are in charge of shredding waste paper. There are approx two bags of shredded paper each week. These are delivered to the Manna Organic Foodstore.
The school garden produced some beautiful organic vegetables this month. First Year Transition Class was busy clearing it up after the summer months.We would like to thank Adam’s Dad Mr. McLoughlin who supplied fertiliser for the allotment.
Staff took part in the Coffee Morning to raise funds for Kerry Hospice Care.
